SaaS quickstart
If your provider hosts Compent AI Chat for you, getting started takes about five minutes: accept the invitation, log in, and look around. This page walks you through exactly that.
1. Accept your invitation
- Check your inbox for an invitation email from the platform (ask your provider if it hasn't arrived — they can resend it).
- Click the link in the email and choose a password.
- The link is valid for 72 hours. If it has expired, your provider can resend the invitation — a new link arrives immediately.
- After setting the password you are signed in automatically.
There is no open self-registration — accounts exist only by invitation, so only people your provider (or your organization's admin) invites can ever see your data.
2. Log in
- Go to the platform address your provider gave you (for example
https://chat.your-provider.com). - Sign in with your email and the password you chose. If your organization uses Microsoft sign-in, you may see a Microsoft SSO button instead.
- You land on the Clients page. You will see the client (or clients) your account has access to — each client is one chat bot.
In the sidebar you'll find your account details, a light/dark theme toggle, a language switcher for the admin interface (English/Dansk), the Guide you are reading now, and the sign-out button.
3. Open your client
Click your client's name. At the top you'll see:
- The client name and a status badge (active or archived — archived takes the widget offline).
- The site ID on the right (starts with
pk_) — your web developer needs this later, but it's already baked into the install snippet for you. - A row of tabs. This is where everything happens.
4. Tour of the tabs
| Tab | What it's for |
|---|---|
| Statistics | Usage charts, top tools and users, and a detailed activity log. See Statistics. |
| Settings | Name/status, widget appearance, AI provider, install snippets, statistics settings, and (for platform admins) limits. |
| Conversations | Every chat transcript, newest first. See Conversations. |
| Knowledge base | Documents, feeds and tags the bot answers from. See Knowledge base. |
| Data | One table of everything stored — inspect, archive or delete any document. |
| MCP servers | Connect external tools (order lookup, bookings…). See MCP servers. |
| Languages | Default widget language, language selector, per-text overrides. See Languages. |
| Access | Verified visitor identities and access roles. See Identity and access. |
| Webhooks | Notify your systems about chat events, or filter messages. See Webhooks. |
| Notifications | Email alerts when the bot stops answering. See Failure notifications. |
| Playground | Try the real widget before it goes on your site. See Playground. |
5. What to do next
Your provider may have pre-configured some of it already — check before you change things:
- Settings → AI provider — is a provider and model selected, with a key set?
- Settings → Install on your site — are your website domains whitelisted?
- Knowledge base — is there content yet, or do you need to upload it?
- Notifications — add yourself as an alert receiver so you hear about failures.
Then follow the first bot checklist step by step — it takes you all the way to a live bot.
Forgot your password?
Use the "forgot password" link on the login page — a reset email is sent to your address. If emails never arrive, your provider's SMTP settings may need attention (that's on their side, not yours).
